Trailers have to be durable enough to withstand constant wear and tear. From loading crates to heavy foot traffic, a trailer’s floor sees consistent use. Over time, the floor can get damp, leading to rot. Here are a few tips to help with your trailer repair.
Trailer floors can be made out of all sorts of materials. Sometimes it’s metal or aluminum, but if it’s a smaller trailer, the floor could consist of carpet and plywood.
If the plywood has rotted out, the repair should be a pretty straightforward fix. You’d want to measure the size of the rotted hole in the floor first. Double-check to make sure you have the right measurements. It’s a good rule of thumb to measure twice so you only have to cut once!
Once you’ve measured, use those measurements to cut out a new piece of plywood to replace the rotted section. If your measurements are correct and there are no problems fitting the plywood, hammer it in with a few nails to seal it shut.
